  • I've had some good week ends

He's my update: my last 4 weekends have been nice.

June8th weekend: Cortland Christian Academy graduation, a cool event, for cool ppl, and I had the huge privilage of being the cool commencement address giver.  I was rather nervous, but i did come close to saying what I intended to.  To Tricia, Bethany, Becky, Sam, Tony, and Aaron God Bless and Congratulations!!  After Graduation was Sammys party Fun Fun  - good times even with the rain.  Saturday -clean up from Sammys party.  Then on to more graduation Parties - I had a lot of fun that day.  after I was all partied out I went to a wedding of a former student of mine - nice wedding, boy do I feel old.   Sunday: My wife & I took Sam to the airport to see her off to Arizona.  We have had her for nearly 3yrs, it was tough to see her go.  She will be attending college out there in the fall.  Best wishes Sammygirl - stay in touch.       After the airport more cleaning up after Sammys party...

June15th weekend:  Finally, I gave my basket ball guys a Party!!!!  After a second strait championship and a season ending tournament championship over an undefeated team my guys deserved it.  I even invited last years team members.  Starting Friday night and going to Saturday morning we had a lot of fun.........   I then left my home on a 4 hour drive to find a place to live near my new place of employment - Plumstead PA.(north of Phily)(south of Allentown)  We secured and apartment. we then went to a minor league baseball game in New Jersey.  Spent the night with in-laws (while there my 22 month old son locked himself in there bathroom - fun times and slowly made our way back home on Sun.  seeing some historical sights on the way as well as nearly running out of gas as well.

June22nd weekend:  Friday i was at a fun church event - good games, good food, good fun, good people.  Saturday I went to my Grandma Harvey's 90th Birthday party - it was way cool, my Grandma is Awesome.  I got to see many relatives I don't get to see very often - it was nice.  From there i stopped by a softball game my brother-in-laws were playing in and I saw a lot of people I don't see very often.  Wethen went to my parents house in PA to visit them, spent the night, went to church at my old home church, had some good times, and drove back to Cortland to lead the evening service at my church.

June 29th weekend:  For the most part I stayed home, and didn't do much or go anywhere - it was rather boring and exactly what I wanted.

  • on monday i injured my left thumb nail,  on thursday it still hurt to button my shirt.  yeah it was painful.  however in friday i didn't have to wear a button shirt becuse i was doing sheet rock work,  good thing i'm so tough and cool.  I overcame the pain in order to accomplish the task.  I see a sermon illustration there.......

Teenagers:  "For rebelion is as the sin of witchcraft..." (1sam15:23)

Praise The Lord, I have secured a summer job and thus some steady income.  My "summer job" starts on tuesday. God has seen fit to provide for the Harvey Family in very nice ways.  His people have provided about 40% of our income for the month of April; praise be to Him!! (if you would like to make a contribution just let me know etc, etc, etc) When my family had to move due to water damage 8 months ago we had to pack in a hurry.  Well we have unpacked some of those still unpacked boxes, and i found a large jar of dimes.  Because of this discovery i was able to say Yes to an invitation to go golfing.  I had  a good time golfing with friends.         and now i have a blister on my right thumb

  • horse and water

There is and old saying: you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.  This I guess is true, but i have learned that with people the saying goes:  you can lead a person to truth, but you can't make him believe.  I wish I was talking about the unsaved.  What is one to do when those calling themselves christians make excuses, and rely on personal experiences and pragmatic thinking to defend their point of view?                    Don't worry, I am not discouraged, I will continue to do my best to be used of God in bringing others to His truth.  And I will be praying that I will be able to leave the results up to Him.

I am discouraged however about all the aches and pains my body is experiencing after playing basketball today.  getting old is no fun........

  • well I had some xanga passward issues ...

xanga doesn't like me.  but that is now over.... anyway....

yesterday i was enjoying the sound of the wonderful birds of spring singing their beautiful morning songs .....as i was shoveling SNOW!!

I received a phone call that has brought to reality a dream of mine.  I have been asked, and have now accepted an invitation to be a speaker for an entire week at a summer camp.  I will get the opportunity to bring to teenage campers a total of nine messages.  I'm way like excited and stuff.  Please pray for me as I prepare to minister to this group of young ppl.  This is just a small camp in PA, but the chance to minister like that is very cool.
